word-count: ~3800 characters: Sam/Ruby, Dean, Lucifer, Lilith rating: M summary: (set during season 3 & 4) She’d met Sam Winchester today. The Boy King. The man Lucifer had chosen above all others.
YES. That was perfectly lovely. I loved how you traced their relationship from beginning to (bitter, bitter) end, and Ruby's thoughts are such a delight. I love how she prayed to Lucifer for guidance throughout (with Lucifer answering back--nice touch), and how, as the days went by, she started to care for what Sam was, and not just what he would become.
There can never be enough Sam/Ruby fics, and this one was fantastic.
She had to be sure that when he fell, it would be into her arms.
I really felt like exploring Ruby's POv for a change, so I'm very glad it worked for you!
The scene with Azazel talking to Lucifer in the chapel is one of my favorite moments in Supernatural. Not only is it damn creepy, but it shows the devotion some of the demons had for him, and that's what I imagine Ruby had - she'd have to, to do what she did.
