written for mamapranayama's prompt: At the cemetery in Lawrence, Sam can't break through and stop Lucifer. Sam/Lucifer beats Dean mercilessly, and leaves him to die on the ground. As Dean dies, Michael comes to Dean and offers him one last chance to bring him back to life if he says 'yes' to him and battles his brother.

I went back over there to see which ones I'd commented on and if I'd been a betting person this is the prompt I'd have put money on you going for!

You've just reinforced my "Michael was a douche" opinion. Huh. What a git.

Yeah, Michael never was too sympathetic. Considering that he's locked up with Lucifer for the foreseeable future in canon, I wonder if his tune has changed at all.

Why must you hurt me this way :'(

Actually, it would have been a better closing to S5. If they really wanted to end the series there.

The prompt was too compelling to not fill!
I am often curious how Swan Song would have ended differently if it had been the series ending. I'm fairly sure Sam and Dean both would have fallen into the Cage.

Agreed- one of the things I really like about the way angels are portrayed on the show is that none of them really seem like the good guys. Very intriguing.
