Thanks to failing LJ notification I just saw this!
This 'verse was so much fun the first time around I thought I'd go back just a few steps to see what led them to where they were in "My Brother's Keeper."
The way I see it-the power of the Horsemen is something more like a force of nature. It's not something that can be repurposed. It is what it is. So once they took that into themselves, they became something else completely.
Oh,coooool. I can only imagine how the Winchesters would use such powers, especially now that conscience is not an issue. I think using Dean's POV was a great idea, and the locusts .... man, nasty. Billions of eating machines. Very interesting world you've created! Bravo!

Dean's POV is fun to write. I've actually done it quite a few times at this point. (It's extra fun when he and Sam are both on the darker side of things)
Catching up on juicy stuff I've missed, and this is wonderful! I love the beginning, there is such a kinetic power to those scenes and I always love it when Dean goes right along and gets dark with Sam.
So glad you enjoyed the read! I had so much fun, years ago, writing "My Brother's Keeper," I always figured I'd end up writing a sequel eventually but it ended up being a prequel instead ; )
The original piece "My Brother's Keeper" really was one of my favorite standalones for so long I just had to write a prequel. Glad you enjoyed the 'verse!
