Not an awful ep, little boring, had me wondering about a lot of things and lamenting missed opportunities.

I wish the conversations between Kevin and Sam (go, geek boys!) had a little more zip. Enjoyed the variant angel. I agree; Cas wasn't triggering my embarrassment squick like I thought he would. But why oh why isn't Sam wondering about his missing memories and random acts of healing? Why can no supernatural critters sense Zeke? Just because he's not making his presence knows to Sam doesn't mean he ain't in there, radiating angel stink. This needs eventual explaining.

I wouldn't mind the spell being irreversible. But there's always more than one way to skin a cat.

Next week looks potentially quite lovely and melancholy and YAY nasty ghost! Now, let's bring the gritty lighting of early seasons back, just a smidge. Serge rocked those initial eps with the creepy.

Totally. Canonically demons can sense angels. So either something's up with Crowley's powers, Crowley is lying, or Zeke has more tricks up his sleeve to conceal his identity.

Totally agree about the lighting. Everything is so bright nowadays.

Totally agree on the Cuneiform and like you, if I know it Sam should know it. I think Crowley was injecting himself with Sam's blood that was saved in the syringes during the final trial. When Sam pulled them out for the phone call, Crowley refused them and Sam wasn't rolling up his sleeves to draw new blood. Kevin and Sam controlled the blood drawn for the phone call and I really can't imagine they would have drawn any more than was needed and they would have put it directly in the bowl. I THINK Crowley demanded Kevin's blood 1) to mess with Kevin and 2) because he does want to be "cured" and it takes Sam's purified blood to do that. I hope they will make this clear soon ( ... )

That's a really interesting idea about it being Sam's blood. I saw a theory floating around on tumblr that Ezekiel is giving Crowley Sam's blood regularly in exchange for him staying quiet about his presence.
However the writer confirmed on twitter that it was Kevin's blood.

Actually, when I think to the episode where Zeke killed the soldier demons, they didn't know there was an angel there until Zeke manifested and killed them. They fought Sam as if he was human, so maybe Zeke can hide well enough that most demons can't see him.
Excellent point.

Oh well, there goes that theory.

Crowley injected himself with Kevin's blood at the end there, yes? To feel human again, perhaps?

That's what I thought, but my mind soon went in other directions that'll probably disappoint me terribly if Show doesn't go there, too. *sets self up for a fall*

Why can't he sense Ezekiel in Sam? Is he still weakened from the cure?
Or does he know all about it, and that's why he didn't want Sam's blood?

Ooo. I like the idea of him being weakened from the cure. Love it, actually. I hadn't thought about Crowley knowing and that's why he didn't want Sam's blood. But if he knew, wouldn't he have given some hint of it? He doesn't appear to fear Sam, nor does he seem nervous around him.

Sam knows what Cuneiform is. I know what Cuneiform is. Therefore Sam knows.

They're making a habit of dumbing the guys down this season. Not liking it much, TBH.

I do that too sometimes. Usually I end up writing fic about my version if I'm proven wrong. ; )

Yeah, seriously - the boys can stay smart even if other characters are smart too! There's no upper limit on total intelligence per ep is there? Oh no what if there is : (

Now on another note: Why can't he sense Ezekiel in Sam? Is he still weakened from the cure?
Or does he know all about it, and that's why he didn't want Sam's blood?

Oh, that's what I wondered! If Crowley knows Zeke is in there and doesn't want angel blood!

Yeah I'm very curious if Crowley doesn't know or has agreed to keep silent.
