If you're going to hold a bang-up event for knitters, like the Yarn Harlot coming to town, make sure a yarn company throws it. Better yet, make sure said company's yarns are wildly popular. Then to add all the toppings, make it a local company.

About 30 miles down the Columbia River from Portland, Oregon, in a smallish town named Scappoose, there's ( Read more... )

things i learned from knitting, knitting, blue moon fiber arts, pdx knit bloggers, yh in portland, yarn harlot, pdxkb, str, book signing

Monica, your detailed account of the evening just blew me away. I have no idea how you remembered everything, but thank you! It was so much fun and I just love being around you. Can't wait to meet up again. Thank heavens it's Friday because that means I can finally sleep in tomorrow to catch up on missed sleep. The wild night out left me exhausted. Cheers!

Thank you, Heide! I dunno either, but sometimes the memory works, for a change. I loved being with you, too; next time you can make it down for something, let me know, we'll forge onwards together! And I felt the same way; I think I'm stillcatching up on sleep, LOL. But oh, what a way to go!

And you're very pretty and very smug in that last picture with Stephanie. As for the bra? Get thee to Lane Bryant! You saw mine...very pretty and very supportive.

Hee - I couldn't help feeling smug. ;) And yep, I'll have to get to LB, grit my teeth and pay for a good one. In a color other than beige. Man, I am sick and tired of beige!

(Still don't think I'll look as good in it as you do yours, though.)

Well, I think you did just fine, Marianne... ;) And oh yeah on Bob! But I think he's taken. Still, it was hilarious seeing all the flashes go off when he came in!

Whoa, Nelly! That was SOME post! Just how DO you remember all this stuff? Hell, I can hardly remember my own name at the end of a get together! ToolMan likes the shot of me in Loose Change (fastened with one of his shawl pins, btw ( ... )

Well, I sorta put the brain in neutral - wait, a theta state - then run a video of the evening...

I have no idea, Bobbie. [g] On the other hand, remember that I forget names as soon as I hear them; I usually forget to show up or am late for things because I wrote the date down and lost my note; and I've never managed to remember when the hell my brother's birthday is. Apparently I'm a packrat not only in stuff I like to get, but what my mind remembers. My apt. and my mind are A) cluttered, and B) a mess! ;)

Glad ToolMan liked the shot of you and Loose Change! That's a great pin he made. Thanks much for the link; those pix do show the gusset and heel nicely. Will look very closely when you get the post on that heel up!
