Well, this post is long overdue, but better late than nevah! Back in March, I attended a three day workshop in Madison, WI (“The Fire in Fiction”) with superagent Donald Maass and bestselling author Nalo Hopkinson.

glad you had a good time - i think i could use something like that - three days of 8hrs/day for JUST writing - but then i'd probably pop with all the different story ideas that ran off with me

Sounds like you had a very interesting and resourceful learning experience! I bet these tools will help you throughout your writing career, which is pretty darn cool. :)

Thanks for posting your notes. They are very helpful, esp. with how much to discuss "system" and world in a sci-fi/fantasy environment. And your revelation at the end was quite gratifying to read! :D

Glad you found this helpful! and heheh yeah it really was quite intense! I remember riding home on the bus afterwards feeling simultaneously completely on fire, & totally exhuasted. LOL!
