Homosexuality in Comics Part II

I'll just skip Alan Heinberg because every time I see his name all I can think is "you bastard destroyed Wonder Woman!!!". So on to the next one. Don't really know Scott Lobdell but I've heard of Northstar. That's about it then though. Maybe I should find me some Alpha ( Read more... )

I really enjoy the comics--Wonder Woman, Birds of Prey, Black Canary, Witchblade.
The problem is the perceived audience for comics--adolescent boys and men without girlfriends except those in two-dimensional ink.
Wonder Woman had some great women-centered story lines. But then the bastards pitted woman against woman (because, god knows, women could never live on an island without fighting) and destroyed it. Wrote a published essay about it, actually.
Sorry to get long-winded, but this is really my cup of tea.

No problem, I like knowing other people's opinions on this stuff because I tend to be blind to certain aspects most of the time. And you're right, the perceived audience does not include women which sucks beyond belief.

Wrote a published essay about it, actually.

Is it somewhere available for reading? I'd be very interested to take a look.
