The septic system contractor will be here by 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. I’m told we should only be without service for the time it takes to dig a hole and set up and connect the new tank; at 1500 gallons it will take a while to fill so it can be used while the rest of their project continues. They will complete the installation of the distribution box ( Read more... )

The pup peeking out was sweet. She goes to all available windows when I’m outdoors just to check up on me!

I still have a rock pile out back from when the foundation was put in. Some of those a damn big!

I'll say, that looks boney indeed, yes. Hope you won't have to spend more in the end, or wait longer.

Yes, I’m hoping this will be smooth. A man who had a gravel pit a mile or so from here, and whose family, coincidentally, used to own this property back in the 1940’s, told me that this whole area was deep with rocks and gravel.

I hope the septic tank replacement goes well. Hopatcong, NJ is solid rock everywhere! It's no wonder the sewer project went bankrupt, and even after a grant went bankrupt again in just phase two of four! Around here at Tom's house there is a lot of clay and shale. Those large boulders in your picture would be great for a giant catapult to defend your castle!

The Christmas lights look good! I haven't done outdoor lights since the 1980's.

Tom has had battery issues and unwelcome critters with his equipment lately too. Tell those damn mice to make something of their lives like their cousin Mickey!

So far, so good :o) No huge rocks, but boney enough that they had to backfill with sand to keep the tank and lines safe from all the stones! Catapult… great idea!

Thanks- I have tried various displays over the years. This year is basic rectangles.

Heh, I can’t bring myself to kill the critters that live outside there. Ok bad they’re so destructive. The battery is about three years old, and I don’t use the little tractor enough to keep it charged.
