MIDIs and More

I've come across a trove of old MIDI files that were downloaded here over the years, some going back to my first webpages in the late nineties! These wouldn't play on Media Player, but Win11 offered Windows Media Player Legacy as an alternative. Woohoo! Among the titles was the ScoobyDoo cartoon theme ;o ( Read more... )

Feel free to, as far as I'm concerned … I dislike politics and violence, but I certainly like fun and sex!

It does make me wonder what happened to songs 3, 8, 12, and 14 in the list on that posting ... ;>

I totally git ya when it comes to remembering the next song on a mix! *wingpats*

Funny you should mention music...
This was a very intence musical kinda day for me too... trying to dig around my memories for the skillz I had a couple dozen years ago when working a bit with music.
Of things I've done, one I haven't (physically) is to generate an arrangement. I've had them in my head before, and I've been been preparing the diagrams for a few weeks, but today was the first time I tried working it out on the actual instruments. Hard Hard. Especially when I'm 30 years rusty! :D

I’ve gone back to the Win7 computer and searched for older versions of the mix, and I see where my copy has song 8: Elvis’ “(Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear.” The screen grab in 2017 was likely after I uploaded to Amazon, and I don’t know why I omitted songs there. imagine song 3 was Teddy’s Autumn Song. 14 May have been Beatles’ “The Long And Winding Road.” 15 is “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” Mysteriouser and mysteriouser.

What’s worse than remembering song order? Remembering pops and hisses! Here’s an aside- I was in a fraternity at URI and hanging out with one of my brothers in his room, and he was playing Dark Side of the Moon, and I asked him where he got the album. He was a little perplexed, and I said I know those noises (pops and hisses) and that this was my album. He balked, and I took the lp off the turntable and showed him my name: black marker on black label but fully readable when angled. “Oh, you wrote your name in black?” was his only comment. *sigh*

A musical Eagle are you? *impressed nod* Do share!

The luxuries of modern technology. When I go out for my daily walk, sometimes I'll have Alexa stream the classic rock station in this area 99.9 The Hawk. Other times, I just have Google Assistant play what ever song I want to hear on YouTube. Yes, I actually have three assistants on my phone (Google Assist, Alexa, and Bixby).

We’ve come a long way from Napster and WinAmp! I miss being able to upload my music to Amazon, but it was probably stopped for legal reasons… ahrrrrr!

Nice on all those assistants. When I get to walking here I’ll see what is available to me. And of course I’ll need earbuds vs my clunky headset!
