We're hearing plenty of Xmas music at work, but every other song is someone's cover of "Last Xmas, I gave you my heart..."
Wow... gas stove tales.... One time on my 1930s gas stove, the pilot lights got out of adjustment somehow and were making fumes... had to be adjusted by a technician. Then recently, I found my 'new' gas stove (with piezo electric ignition), can be accidentally bumped so that the gas RUNS without being lit. Seems like that's a safety shortcoming... ;P Thank goodness they scent the gas!

Or the original! Apparently Whamageddon is a thing.
In Iceland, there's a few real staples too, though they're much more bearable. Ef ég nenni, as sung by Helgi Björns, is one. I've recently heard people refer to Nennageddon as the Icelandic version of Whamageddon, even.
I love Rankin Bass shows, so that little panel just tickles me :o)
The library doesn’t do music :D Thank goodness for Spotify here at home, though! When my wife was at Babies R Us one of the big songs was from Frozen- Let It Go. Over and over! A wintery song, at least.
Gas stoves can be finicky: ours is propane. I replaced two burners I thought were too sooty, but I still see more yellow than I wish in the flames. I don’t like messing with this aspect. The oven igniter is straightforward, and we actually got a cake baked today with that old one.
I’m very happy for the A1C result. *sigh* I still need to get a PSA test done and see the uro guy.
I'm curious, what are your favorite seasonal songs?
Well done on getting your A1C down, not that I know what that is exactly. :) Improving one's health always gets a thumbs-up.
Good thing you had a spare igniter too! It's often amazing to me how many single points of failure exist in our lives, for various things that we really kinda depend on no less.
The A1C is just a way to determine if your blood sugar is dangerously high- diabetes. Next up is PSA- prostate-specific antigen test to see if I need a biopsy or surgery *cringe*.
I try to be prepared for these annoying little points of failure acting badly. There are definitely a lot that can disrupt our ‘comfortable’ lifestyles.
Edit to add songs!
Run Rudolph Run- Chuck Berry
Jingle Bell Rock - Bobby Helms
Rockin Around The Christmas Tree, Brenda Lee
Chipmunk Christmas song
Artists- Mitch Miller, Gene Autry, Ray Coniff, among others
Ah, I see. I hope you'll be fine then, diabetes-wise.
Interesting side note - I got some new books on weight training, muscle hypertrophy, weight loss, eating right and so on which I started reading, and in the book on eating, it was mentioned that maintaining a healthy body composure (low body fat percentage, high lean body mass) and weight training were a good way of avoiding and/or controlling diabetes.
It's not the first time I've read that either; a couple of years I came across the pointed remark that what diabetics need is more iron - not in the food, but in their hands.
I don't know how much eating (right) and training are on your radar, but it may be something to look into if blood sugar markers are already high.
I gave up on listening to Christmas music on the radio years ago! Now I just open YouTube and play the songs that I want to hear at Christmas. It saves me a lot of aggravation and irritation! LOL
Welcome to the "no longer pre-diabetic club"! When it comes to one's health, a little good news goes a long way!
I always remember my grandma's gas stove, she was an amazing cook! I've always had electric stoves, but gas stoves cook things so much better! The only igniters I've ever had go bad are the ones on the barbeque gas grill.
I have a cheap subscription to Spotify and can always pull up something nice there.
I’m glad the number dropped. I’m trying to eat better, but this time of year is difficult!
“Cough it up cough it up cough it up!” Ewwww! And we had another one out today. I’m hoping to not get sick as well.
The gas can is touted as (and named) No-Spill, and I was like WTF! But it was my error in not realizing the screen would interfere with the mechanism. Wiped it up and nature evaporated the rest.

This is dedicated to you and your co-workers! LOL! https://youtu.be/0GONd04tiLk?si=Mkaw96rRve377fqR
I'm glad your power has been restored. I've had a few gasoline pouring mishaps. Thankfully, they are rare occurrences!
That character montage is epic! I just watched "The Year Without A Santa Claus" the other night. The Miser Brothers crack me up!

Rankin Bass for the win!
