What does the word after "like a wierd little" in the first diary entry read? The only thing I can read it as is "vermin", but I doubt that's what you wrote. ^^
The book had simple recipes, like Pillsbury crescents with some sort of stuff inside (not pigs in a blanket). But I didn't take the book out. I have enough cookbooks at home and there is always online :o)
Heh, I had Springsteen's "Glory Days" running through my mind. But I try not to dwell on those times now (I really didn't have a lot of Glory Days as it was!)
I really liked the bears in the actual book. When looking online they appear as black bears, and I think they got into some paint. I need to find the book among my heaps of 'reference' materials!
Lovely nostalgic notes & critters & thoughts ^v^ Thank goodness for remaining friends, for sure. The "scatter" is not something they teach us in school.... everyone gathering happily at the same soda shop, and then when dozens of new ones open, that group scatters, to FaceBook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Tumblr, Discord, Mastodon, etc. Adds a steep challenge to try to keep up.
heh and yeah... chat was so fun for many years! *tailwag*
*smiles* for a long while I was able to find and chat again with two friends from yiffynet. One was here, and the main reason I finally joined LJ. Well, he move on, somewhere. The other was on Twitter, was a furson I had actually met IRL and visited with a couple of times. He has also vanished.

That second panel reminds me of Eddie Money's song "I Wanna Go Back".
I love the polar bear in the last panel!
