... But I swear to god, I SWEAR TO GOD THIS IS WHY VANGUARDS ARE FUN. Even when they aren't practical, you just have to imagine what the poor fools you're facing have got to be thinking! THEY'RE JUST STANDING THERE ALL LIKE:
"Herpaderp, I don't wanna check in there it's dark can't we just assume it's clear?" "Yeah, fine... Wuss." Suddenly, a wild Vanguard appears! Vanguard uses takedown! IT'S SUPER EFFECTVE! MASSIVELY, EVEN! At which point their thoughts are more like "HOSHIT WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED OHMIGAWD YOU GUYS RUN THE BOOGIEMAN'S REAL FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF"
And you laugh, and the kids laugh, and the dog laughs, and they die a little inside. And outside. And just... totally and completely.
Sweet jeebus, that was amazing! The only thing that could have made that more epic was if one of the bad guys had said, 'Holy shit, it's SHEPARD!' and crapped his pants before dying. :p
... They might go away between missions or if you switch party members or... something... BUT IT CAN BE STUPID AWESOME FOR SPECIFIC CASES OF ANNOYING FIGHTS OR WHATEVER.
