Mona, I remember the last two that you've mentioned. And then there was another one in which an old man on his death bed calls his sons and asks them to get sticks, which he wants them to snap. Remember?
Oh yeah, i remember this one. Then there was another one on unity with fishes.. A tiny yellow fish gets lost in the wide ocean and gets chased by this big shark. He travels far and wide and meets lots of different sea creaturs. In the end, he finds hundreds of small blue fishes like himself, who're afraid of the big blue. Together, they align themselves like a large blue fish (with the yellow fish as the 'eye') and they chase the big fish again. :) i think there was a blue colored sun or something in this movie.
do you rem another one on Rama's vanvas, when he meets shabri? There's this line in the film where Rama goes, "Main bhuka hoon, bhojan laao" in a very deep voice. It tickled us to use that line very meal! What fun! :P
sillifluous remembers watching the first two toons. The bean men were just too cute. Especially the bad one running his thumb on the edge of his axe to test its sharpness - his expression of wicked glee is unforgettable.
Methinks it was the simplicity and the lack of special effects that made these cartoons so touching; indeed memorable.
Yes, i remember them, especially the second and third. The second was hilarious - i could do a decent imitation of some of those sounds back then.
The third was, of course, based on a well known story - there's even been a poem! Check the Wikipedia entry, but i can't resist pasting from the poem :
It was six men of Indostan To learning much inclined, Who went to see the Elephant (Though all of them were blind), That each by observation Might satisfy his mind
So oft in theologic wars, The disputants, I ween, Rail on in utter ignorance Of what each other mean, And prate about an Elephant Not one of them has seen!
I remember I and II. I also loved 'Ek Chidiya, Anek Chidiya' too. There was also another great one that went 'Saregamapa' which was about spreading rumours. Really great memories.
scroll up to check the youtube link for 'Ek-Anek'. Its a delight even after all these years! I don't remember the 'saregamapa' one. could you put down the gist here?
I obtained a personal digital copy of 'ek anek' video when I first found a copy online. I watch it from time to time and continue to be amazed by how good it is
