So someone bombed my home city yesterday. If there was a time when I felt paralyzed with fear, it was last night. A small marquee running down the local news channel turned to breaking news turned to communications jam turned to hard-hitting panic! Those 2+ hours that I couldn't get through home and the for the 12+ hours with no connection to close

While your point, about a holiday today, makes sense... that is exactly what the terrorists desire. To bring a megapolis to a crunching halt with a few kgs of explosives! The non-holdiay was a deliberate attempt to send a signal across to those terrorists that we will not be cowed down.
Mumbai did not limp back to normalcy today... it limped a couple of steps yesterday. But it was back in its old, purposeful stride much before the sun rose today.
