[There's a burst of static followed by the sound of rustling fabric and something scratching against plastic. There's no image, but soon the darkness is replaced with a stunning shot of the wall, before the camera swivels over to...an eye? A bright green eye. It zooms out to reveal the face of a severe-looking woman in her early thirties. She is ( Read more... )

That's a question we all ask. It's one that has no conclusive answers.

So you know absolutely nothing about this man. Is that correct?

Nothing? Not entirely. We can speculate.

Would you mind sharing your theories? Even if they aren't conclusive, it's still better than nothing.

It is generally thought, mademoiselle, that he has some morality or purpose that is inexplicable to most people.

And yet, he still has some interests at heart - otherwise, I doubt he'd be so interested in self improvement. Would that be a fair assessment?

But we don't truly know his purpose in doing so.

Do you know anything about him?

No need to frown. He doesn't interfere that much.

So he just leaves us here to rot on an old, rusted ship, then.

When you put it that way...

It isn't always rusted, though.

But it's also still just as chaotic, from what I've heard. Would you say that's correct?

[oh hey sup sloth have not!pride. you can tell he's not pride because he has a better mustache and his face isn't shaped like a potato.]

Personally, I haven't got the faintest idea of what his purpose is. Either he's exceptionally naive or there's some hidden catch to all of this.

[Her eyes widen in obvious surprise, but soon, a small, brief smile crosses her face]

With all due respect, I doubt that someone this powerful would be so naive, sir.

I suspect he does have something to gain from all this. But then, I suspect he's a neutral god, possibly working in conjunction with another neutral god to maintain balance across multiple universes by reforming people while his partner uses another barge to make people evil, in order to avoid having the scales tipped in either direction.

[Her eyes widen for a brief moment before she composes herself. She shouldn't be surprised by this theory, but...really, gods? While multiple worlds, even universes, made sense - it was hard to deny their existence after you toss another person into one - but the idea of true, genuine divinity was laughable]

[That said, there could still be a grain of truth in his statement, buried under the superstition. Best to humor him for the time being]

And what makes you say that, out of curiosity? I have to admit, this theology is quite ...different than what I'm used to.

There was a flood once, after this Barge crashed into its opposite, a place where the good were converted into evil. Balance has always been an important thing to the gods of neutrality, it's something that mages, whether good, bad, or neutral, must understand well.

...so, there are other ships out there?

[Is curious about your gods despite herself, but this is far more interesting]
