Today, Sookie was making a point to open her mind enough to see if she could find any other blank spots, like Emmett. She didn't, but she did come across another one like Jaina, whose mind was closed to her entirely.

Since she wasn't that good, just yet, she couldn't exactly trace the source of the barriers, though she knew they were from someone new. But she was fairly certain that whoever it was was on her floor, so she just found the first open floor she could find. If nothing else, meeting new people would never hurt. "Hi!"

Ben's eyes flew open. "Hi," he replied. "You're new?"

He was pretty sure he'd memorized all of the other faces.
