After talking to the nurses and calling home to inform Sephiroth of the schedule, Angeal was finally ready to take the younger Sephiroth home. He wheeled a wheelchair into the teen's room, stopping beside the bed and offering an arm for Sephiroth to lean on. "They'll let you out of here, now. We can go home."

He notes the tone, wondering why he was so curious about Cloud, then wondering what to tell him. "He is... determined, stronger than he thinks. He is still recovering from many wounds, as we all are." He gives Sephiroth a sad little smile.

He squeezes Sephiroth's shoulder. "I know. That's why I'm teaching you, now. Do you trust me?" This was risky, but apparently the only way Sephiroth might understand what he was discussing.

He frowns, considering that one for a long moment. "...You saved me and my brothers. You gave us somewhere to go. You don't know when to give up and keep pissing me off, and you're so annoying and way too protective and you keep forcing me to do things I don't want to do, and--"

He continues on in this vein for a while, but he doesn't sound angry in the least. He sounds...like he's trying not to laugh.

"--I don't know. Does that mean I trust you?" he finally finishes.

Angeal laughs heartily, not having expected that. "It might. It sounds like it." He pauses before moving on. "I earned your trust. By showing you that you could trust me. By showing you that I wouldn't hurt you, being honest with you, and kind to you. That is how you earn his trust. The same way anyone earns anyone else's trust. Be kind to him for long enough, and he'll realize that you won't hurt him."

He flops over onto his back on the bed, putting his hands behind his head and considering that. He's still not quite sure what this entails, but he thinks he might have enough of an idea to try.

And that leads him to, yet again, not think before he speaks.

"When can I start trying?"

...It's probably interesting to see all the shades of red he can turn.

And he's laughing, again. Poor Seph. "Interested in Cloud?"

"I-I told you, he seemed sympathetic!" But the stammer and the defensive tone really don't help.

"So did Vincent. So did your alternate." He's grinning.

"I didn't notice!" Almost squeaking, now, with how high his voice has risen.

He's trying not to laugh. He really is. He's just failing. Finally geting a hold of himself, he asks: "Does he make you feel warm, and silly? Does your heart rate speed up, near him, or when you think about him?"

"That's just stupid," Seph grumbles, but does think about it and shift a little in apparent agreement, cheeks flushing again.

"You have a crush on him," he murmurs in explanation. "You're the right age for this sort of thing to begin showing up." He smiles at him. "Sephiroth, this is natural, but the Cloud from this world... probably doesn't feel the same way, about you. You are too young for that to be appropriate, legally, and he is already in a relationship with someone else. I'm sorry." He looks into Sephiroth's eyes, trying to see if he understands.

He tries, but Seph can't hide the flickers of hurt in his eyes, even if he has no idea why that should hurt - it doesn't make sense, but he's kind of given up on things making sense in the past short while.

"...I understand." Only he really doesn't, and the far-too-even way he says that proves it.

He doesn't say anything, just sits up and turns his back to Angeal, pulling his legs up to his chest and resting his cheek on his knees, wondering disgustedly why he can feel his eyes growing hot.

Angeal makes a soothing sound and runs a hand over Sephiroth's back gently, silently wondering if Seph wants him to stay or leave.
