It's been almost 28 years since I lost my mom ...

I was 13 the summer she died.  She had been sick for months, before we even knew she was sick.  Her death destroyed an already dysfunctional family.

My parents split up when I was 7, my mom had a barrage of boyfriends for a few years, until she met and married my stepfather who was an alcoholic.   ( Read more... )

So sad .. I'm sorry you didn't get a chance to grow up with your Mom around. The pain of losing a mother never seems to go away .. I'm glad that you're still able to keep her memory alive.

I had my son a year after my mother passed away. My entire pregnancy was miserable because all I could focus on was how desperately I needed my own mother. When my marriage fell apart, I could hear my mom saying, "I told you he was a jerk. I told you!" I completely understand where you are coming from and as terrible as it is to admit, I do not foresee things getting easier. *hugs*

Up
