HIYA! It is a cute video isn't it. Jen showed it to me a while ago. My accent veers into that extreme Kiwi occasionally which gives me abit of a fright.
Are you keeping the SPN episodes for me?? *makes big eyes at you*
My stepmother is from New Zealand, so I hear a bit of her in that video, though her accent is getting softer as the years go on.
I love the show Flight of the Conchords, but I think their accents are softened as well for the mainstream viewer. Enough to be cute, but not so hard you can't understand them.

FotC is legendary. They actually do speak like that tho, I don't think their accents have been changed at all. But then, they're white fellas from Wellington, so they won't have the thick accents that are in the vid up there anyway (which are typically spoken by more indigenous peoples.) I sound mostly like that anyway, except for the few years spent in England growing up that stops me pronouncing "beer" and "bear" the same.
Accents are interesting. It really fascinates me =) Like how I find an Australian accent annoying and nasal and a Scottish accent sexy, but an English girl might think the opposite. And accents within foreign languages! You just don't think about it usually!
