1. All my New England friends have snow all over their LJs. Six inches, eight inches, more - horrendous commutes, slippery roads, dangerous traffic, digging out, staying home. I am looking outside my window right now: it's sunny and 50 degrees. Not a flurry, not a flake, not a cloud in the sky - I walked the kids to school today in just hooded ( Read more... )

timothy_tim's Montessori school is $10,500 per student next year. And they take oodles of holidays and breaks. I'd be afraid to count how many actual days he is in school.

That's for five days/week (for the most part), 9a-3p.

~180 per month for 2 days, 2.5 hours just school year with all holidays, plus a couple of teacher improvement days...

I'd have to look up the rest, but they are roughly the same cost per hour.

I am looking outside my window right now: it's sunny and 50 degrees. Not a flurry, not a flake, not a cloud in the sky - I walked the kids to school today in just hooded jackets. And here's what a die-hard New Englander I am: I'd rather be there with the snow than here with the sun. It just makes more sense to me. I am a whack job.

Not a whack job! I'm from Michigan, and now I live in southern PA. 50 degree days in December are almost offensive to me--I want snow, darn it! Where's my snow?

They call it a major winter storm when they get one inch. Tschah.

I grew up in Michigan too and I can't help but laugh at all these hardy New Englanders getting their panties in a bunch any time the weatherman predicts more than 4" of snow.

Ditto! I'm from Michigan and living in Mass...these people put their windshield wipers UP in snow storms...don't they realize it does nothing? Crazy people.
