If I'm still in the hospital that weekend, you are welcome to come visit. And if I'm not, you're welcome to visit me at home. I doubt I'll be ready for a GNO by then. ;)

I'm glad you're going to be able to come up - sounds like you need a break before the weather makes it more difficult for you to visit us!

Aw, that's a sweet offer. I expect you'll be post-partum and already home by then, but we can play it by ear. :)

Not to influence your plans or anything, but Sept 30 is my birthday *grin*

Yep, that pretty much sealed the deal.

You will choose some time during that weekend (whenever is convenient for you), and I will take you out for a Birthday Meal. You choose the place - whatever type of food strikes your fancy. Except lobster. Lobster is weird.

T-minus two days until school starts. SQUEE! You know those mothers who shed a tear of sadness on the first day of school as they drop their children off and lament the too-rapid passage of time? They really crack me up.

Yeah, me too. My oldest son will be 24 this week.

My youngest started kindergarten last week. I'm SO ready for some ME time!

Wait, wait. So, you haven't had me time in 24 years?

Jesus.

No... no words...

Well--in small doses. (An hour here, an afternoon there.)

But my oldest, Brian, will be 24 tomorrow. His brother David was born the year Brian started kindergarten.

Steven was born the year DAVID started kindergarten, Tommy three years after that, and Jimmy three years after Tommy.

I adore my boys whole heartedly, but the home-schooling, crunchy granola type mommy I am not, and I am a better mommy when I also get some time alone.

Becareful about working in a place that you love. I used to work at Disney and then at a fabric store. I don't think I ever saw a dime of my paycheck. It all just went right back to the store.

I know several people, some with PhDs, who work at REI just for the discount.
