Well, the bedrock just sort of... stops being one composition and starts being another. Like someone just scooped a chunk of this world up and dropped a piece of another in it's place.

[He's slightly taken aback by that. Since when does the Doctor ever do anything genuinely nice for him? But he quickly shields his surprise and the very brief, split second smile.]
