News out of nowhere:

Dead Like Me back as direct-to-DVD movieWas certainly not expecting this, but it's welcome news! Hopefully they'll use this as a kind of reboot to get rid of the inconsistencies introduced in the second season. (i.e. Let's ignore the continuity errors that have occurred and concentrate on character interaction). Ellen Muth ( Read more... )

I got the link to the DLM article from a reply to the Slashdot post about the Farscape resurrection...

To be honest, Farscape is over with. The fans got PKW after a lot of pressure, and what the writers/creators/producers did with PKW was a very good way to wrap up the storyline, do something major and heart/ground-breaking, and it gave the series a finishing point. The story is over...

Doing more in the universe, with the same characters... well, it's nice, but Farscape's quality was best with the character interaction/continuing storyline, and with some of the characters gone, or changed, or whatever, and a new storyline... it will need to work hard to pull in that new audience.

Yay! I always liked Dead Like Me. Although it will be interesting to see how Reggie evolved over the two years. She was the perfect age for her role.
It's interesting that a lot more studios are starting to look at the straight to DVD market, primarily as a means to avoid undue network interference and the uncertainty of network decisions over the fate of their show (such things can later be picked up by the networks, but on the studio's terms – take it as is or leave it).

Pity about Mandy Patinkin not reprising his role.
