Holly Throsby at the Jade Monkey
I went to see Holly Throsby (with her supporting musicians Bree and Jens) perform last night.
I really enjoyed the gig - just as good as last year (although the support act last night isn't really worth a mention) and it was a fairly mellow night all round, but being Sunday I had to rush home afterward.
Unfortunately due to where I was sitting and the fact that virtually no light was cast on the stage (especially on the performers' faces) means my photos and videos are pretty crap. But I'll share them anyway.
The photos uploaded to Flickr are the best of a bad lot - almost all the others had a microphone in front of Holly's face or crazy red eyes or whatever. I really didn't like having to take photos with the flash (as I think it is rude to the performers) but without any light on the stage, flashless pictures just turned out to be red blobs in the dark.
As you can see in this video - or rather, can't see... light on stage was at a minimum. Hopefully listening to the songs will be enough, even if recorded in mono on my (primarily still) digital camera.
