people are stupid.

it's why i have a job...and will always have a job.

we refer to people like that as "billables."

For this to work, all of these factors have to be in play. They must combine.
Oh, and there must be a loophole to that whole "personal accountability" thing.
When I go to Starbucks and my coffee is hot, you know what I do?

I blow on it.

And I wait for it to cool down before I sip again. True story.

There is a famous business ethics case with McDonalds that I heard about in college. Yes, their coffee was hot, but it was extremely hot.

...which is exactly why her case has less ground than the one that settled all those years ago.
Since that case, any big franchise has that warning on their cups. Starbucks specifies that their coffee is extremely hot. It's printed on their cups. You get full warning.
