Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. It's the first book in the Sookie Stackhouse series (which the HBO series True Blood is based upon).

OMG, I didn't know that! Some librarian I am. Now need to check the books out.

Once I finish the first book I'm going to get the True Blood Season 1 dvd set. I don't want to watch now and spoil myself on the plot points.

Let me know what you think about the book when you get finished. I never liked vampires in the past, but now I find them strangely entertaining.
