Fanfiction (gulp)

Yes, I've been quiet here. I have been writing, but not the slash parody. In fact, for some odd reason, I've written...actual fanfiction. Het, to be specific. I'll post it, but will be standing by to mark it "private" if the cowardly mood strikes me ( Read more... )

"Then what?" demands Pippin, who has turned sideways on the bench to drink in Merry's story.

Absolutely wonderful, but I'm afraid I am left feeling an awful lot like poor Pippin there! :) I've had Eowyn/Merry thoughts before, but could never have put them on paper as eloquently as you did just now.

Thank you! Hehe...I figured I'd get some groans for fading to black, but didn't feel it was quite the right fic for the raunch. Don't get me wrong; I could have easily gone that way (hee); but for one thing, I didn't want friends and associates in real life to be ashamed to know me; and for another, the whole fic just felt too melancholy and respectful for NC-17, or even R. It's odd, but I'm a lot more hesitant to write detailed sex scenes for "serious" pieces than for comedy - it's like it "doesn't really count" if it's comedy, or something. :)

Absolutely wonderful. While I did echo Pippin here, The fade to black felt just right and in keeping with the rest of the wonderfully-written fic. When I can not only see it and feel it, but believe it comepletely, it's a great addition to my day. Not to mention the fic library.

Can't pick a favorite line out, it's all too good. Two of my very favorite characters paired and treated wonderfully. Thank you.

I've been annoyed at fades-to-black before, so I understand and I'm glad you could forgive me for this one. :) Thanks for the lovely compliments.

wonderful! you must write more fic and often, it makes this pairing very probable and lovely. Will rec it, if you don't mind?

Thank you so much, and go ahead! I practically never write "serious" fanfic, but the encouragement from those of you who do is very flattering indeed. If I get inspired again, I may take the plunge.

Lovely though she looked when grave, she surpassed herself completely in happiness

That's lovely. The whole thing is fantastic. I used to have a link for a page that had all of your LotR fanfic, but I can't find it. Could you give it to me again, please?

Thank you!
Hmm, I think the site you're thinking of might be one that's now defunct. But my LOTR stuff, aside from all being somewhere on this LJ, is mostly here as well:

This fic hasn't been put anywhere other than here yet, though.

*hugs Merry* awww! And I love the humor mixed in with it all. So very hobbitish. :)

Thanks! Yes, I think their humor is why I love hobbits best. I actually had to make an effort to get Eowyn to relax. :)

Magnificent! An excellent portrayal of the dread and loneliness that would certainly accompany the long journey to battle. Your characterization of Merry is marvelous, and I *love* the idea of Eowyn being the "instigator" as it were--it seems so like her not to be afraid to seek and give comfort. Thank you for posting this!

Whew! So glad some of you serious fanfic people are being kind to me for this. *stops nibbling nails in anxiety* :) I'm also glad the characterizations strike you as real. I'm so used to playing fast-and-loose with them, in parody, that I wondered if I was able to do it "right."

Yes, I think Eowyn would have to start things. Merry would feel it was definitely not his place, methinks. ;)
