Almost done with season 1 of Avatar: the Last Airbender, and though I don't know any spoilers from future seasons (LET'S KEEP IT THAT WAY), I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that there are a lot of hardcore Zuko/Katara shippers out there. Brothers in Arms - In a palace in Ba Sing Se, one man awaits his death, one boy - his torture, and another - his destiny. An Iroh, Sokka and Zuko adventure.
Fragile - When Sokka comes back injured after going hunting with Zuko, Katara realizes her brother is more breakable than he seems.
Nightmares - Who do you go to when you have nightmares, Sokka?" An innocent question, right?

There is also a recfest over here, but I guess you'll have to be careful of spoilers.
Hope you love the rest of the series. It *is* weird shipping cartoon characters, but you'll get used to it :D

Once I'm through the series and know who everyone is, I may indeed rush out and read fics. :) I'm pretty sure when I was a kid I shipped cartoon characters, Saturday morning cartoon soap opera type things--silly ones like Jem & the Holograms, or GI Joe. But of course that shipping was rather tamer than I did later with other fandoms. Still, in some sense it isn't entirely a new feeling to me.

Well, yes, Aang is twelve, but also a hundred and twelve, and also thousands of lifetimes old, both male and female.
Not spoilers, I hope, but after you've seen Season 2 there will be more characters to ship.

I don't count the last 100 years for Aang since he was asleep. But true about remembering past lives, so, hmm. It's just, he *acts* twelve. :) So far.
Given how often the kids say, "Can we pleeeease watch one more episode?", we'll likely be well on our way into season 2 soon!
