Molly, you most definitely can. Ankle weights are awesome (and make you a better jumper!) but you have to get the kind that won't wear into your ankles and get scratchy. Either that, or you need fairly comfty socks with a lot of floof to 'em, if you know what I mean. I've still got this red spot on my right ankle. (But only the right one. Weird.)
you can do it! sparkpeople is actually super helpful. i've been doing bikram yoga (which is like, yoga in a hot as fuck room) lately and its changing my body really fast. Its not really meant as a weight loss exercise, but you do burn lots of calories and your whole body just feels so much healthier. i'm coming up on 30 lbs lost and its definitely helping with that. you are always welcome to come with moi!
(Hells, yeah! I don't have the balance for it - which is weird, since I have pretty good core - but anyone who says yoga can't be hardcore is a toolbag. Most yoga addicts I know could trounce my sorry bottom if it ever came to fisticuffs with little difficulty. Let's hear it for the yoga)
