Has he done anything wrong? Well, it's something everyone knew he was going to do, but he's bombing Pakistan and killing civilians in an attempt to rout al-Quaeda.

He's a US President, and I greatly respect him for many reasons and he could be a far worse, but he's far from perfect.

I was going to say that. And yes, it was to be expected, but it was still something of a bump-down-to-earth moment when I read about it.

Other than that, though, the last couple of weeks have been full of fist-in-air "yes!" moments coming thick and fast. (I keep getting a remixed version of the "America: Fuck Yeah" song from Team America World Police in my head. This one goes "Stem cells: fuck yeah! Science: fuck yeah! Windmills: fuck yeah! Closing Gitmo: fuck yeah!" Etc etc.)

...I can see a lot of reasons the Left, particularly the anti-war Left, would be displeased with him, including the retention of most of the Bush National Security team. Of course, this is one of the few moves of his that I applaud.

...that's just about it. The rest of the 'best' that he's done, is the delayed caving on the stimulus package (though I expect he will inevitably go further Left, with terrible consequences on that as well).
