She was born a piddling

little thing. Her parents’ massy

faces looked down on her

without drifting

like the amniotic fluid

that once cupped her,

buoyed her in her mother’s

strict uterine walls.

She could feel the salt of

their fingertips when they

touched her, sucking up

the moisture from the sac

that followed her afterward,

dejectedly cleaned up

Nice Klimt reference. He's not exactly the most popular of painters but he totally should be.
