As if kids didn't have a hard enough time in school...

The state attorney's office concluded the matter did not meet the criteria for emotional child abuse

so sitting there while 16 kids (your entire class) explains to you in great detail why they dont like you, then voting you out isnt emotional abuse i'm not sure what is.

What because it didnt happen over a period of time? cause the intent to cause harm wasnt there?

this is something you would remember for your entire life...i still remember bits of kindergarten. i certainly would remember THAT.

I don't remember much from Kindergarten, but I know I would remember if my entire class told me what a horrible person they thought I was. I think I am even more appalled that the school and district are backing her. The clear route to take would be to fire her and apologize profusely. I just can't understand why they chose to back her.

Another reason not to be in Florida. gaelfarce May 29 2008, 00:35:48 UTC
That's screwed up. However, it's the school itself and the school board that are backing her up. I don't see a mention of a union and I don't know if Florida is a union state which it probably isn't since most of the south is non-union and Florida is notoriously crazy. They can't even get teachers from Seattle who've never had a job to go down there.

Someone on one of my autism groups said the teachers' union was backing her - as you can imagine, this subject has been getting a lot of play on the autism groups. It could very well have been that person's opinion and there might not be a union involved - I didn't check it out.

Yes, Florida is horrible. When Paul and I lived there (Paul for a year, me for 6 months) we hated it. It is a very "me, me, me" state. Nice to visit, not so nice to live there.
