This song has been speaking to me lately and I am totally going to do it at the retreat!!!  I have about 10 songs picked out, most of which I know pretty well.  This is the unofficial list so far.  I want to have between 10 and 15 songs and I can think of more I'd like to do but I'm trying to wait til I know who all is going to be on the worship ( Read more... )

I have a different version of Trading my sorrows. It's a great song. I've never understood why I love religious music. My ipod is loaded with it and it always inspires me, even though I can not stand going to church or things like that.

You are Holy is a good one too. The beat keeps it stuck in your head. I think it was one of the only songs I would freely sing at church.

I used to do Jaci Velasquez but that requires mad singing skills lol.

I looooooove this one... we used to do it all the time back when I was at Western! But there are no boys that ever go to the English service here so I can never sing it T^T plus I know a guy that loves this song and I am trying to get him to go haha. He forgot last time."

You know, there was a time *before* Michael W. Smith covered this song and *butchered* it. Back in those days (2000-2002), both the guys and the girls sang both parts, only splitting the last time through. And you can always do a left-side/right-side split.

As for Shane and Shane (You Said), they are AWESOME! My friends Nate, Megan, and I used to play together in this style, with all of the tight harmonies. ^__________^ Guitar, Djembe, and Violin, plus 3 well-blended voices. Mmmm. We were going to form a band, but then Nate ran off and got married.

Um... good for you. I'll stick with the original. His version never allows the guys to sing the verse that is the entire point of the song--the names of God. I think that's why, nowadays, girls seem to like this song a lot better than guys do.
