Did I mention I usually have a yearly reading goal?  I think I started with reading goals in 2006 or 2007.  At that time, it was 50 books a year.  But I have found over time that 50 is not enough of a challenge.  I can really breeze through it.  Last year I didn't have a goal, but last year's total (between English books, Japanese books, and ( Read more... )

That's such a hefty goal! I'd really love to set a goal like this for myself. I don't know if I can handle it while in college though. All the textbook reading and what not kind of makes me never want to pick up a book. It's very sad.

Yeah... looking back, I was still in college during the 50 book goal... and since I majored in English I was reading quite a lot of stuff that didn't qualify for my goal. Now that I am out of school and I have no social life (other than weekends) I have lots of time for reading. I can also read at work between classes.

I wish I could set up that kind of goal, but I really have no time =(. All my free time (Which is what, lik3 4 hours a day?) is filled with studying Japanese, and once I start classes again, it'll be divided even more >.<

I usually count 5-6 manga as one book. But I read them in English, so maybe it's more fair that way. Anyway, now that I'm back in the US, I'm frequenting the library almost once a week, usually leaving with a book and 6-8 manga.
