Good list. I'm working through it while IMing friends and family. Konayuki and Tegami would make it on my lists too, but the rest of the list would look different. Akeboshi would make it on there, but I'd probably put "wind" instead of "yellow moon."
"Bakusome Yume Uta"... I knows that one!!!1!1 Go Soul Eater!
The thing I love about J-Rock is their use of stringed instruments in the background. And the fact that their lyrics aren't about sex and drugs. And J-Punk is just fun!
I prefer Yellow Moon to Wind.... and Wind is in English so I didn't want it on my Japanese list :P those are the only 2 good songs by Akeboshi I have ever heard (I have only heard about 8 or so, but just sayin').
I've never heard of Himitsu Kichi (it strikes me as ok but I wouldn't put it on a list like this) but I do like Natsu Matsuri. And Matsuri is such a horrible song lol.
My beef with Jrock is just that the vocal style is so different from English rock that I can't enjoy it. Some songs are not so bad but in general I just can't get into it.
Yes, but Matsuri is so SPECTACULARLY horrible that it's awesome! ^___________^
Himitsu Kichi was the 1st ending theme for Eureka Seven. I love how the woman's voice is so fragile-sounding, yet she has incredible control. The first 20 seconds or so didn't impress me, but then I was instantly hooked. And I KNOW you've heard it before, because I've sung it in Karaoke with you sitting right next to me.
As for J-Rock, how many times have we had this conversation? The voice is a lot different, and they tend not to use auto-tuning, so it's off-pitch more often than in American Rock, so you've got a good point. I like it because it tends to be more melodic.

My list would definitely have to include:
* Natsu Matsuri by Whiteberry - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYuz7PcBb2U
* Himitsu Kichi by Takada Kozue - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tzyat4gF1Kk
And, of course:
* Matsuri by Kitajima Sanburo - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSXrplvy1I0
