So I thought Valentines Day in Japan was for guys giving things to girls then White Day was girls giving stuff to guys.. or the other way around?
I remember I went to Japan end of January/ beginning of February and there were advertisements all over the place for valentines day. I can remember the english on it said something like "You Like Her Chocolate".. and it just made me giggle on the train. I agree with you that it is stupid and funny at the same time. Stupid "holiday" to begin with, but funny that the Japanese totally milk the day for all it is worth. I think all they see is dollar signs.. same thing with christmas in Japan.. totally commercial holiday.
Valentines is when girls give chocolate to boys. White Day is when boys that received chocolate are expected to give something to the girls they received chocolate from. Not necessarily chocolate. So you had the days reversed.
