FINALLY
I never did beat Deathgaze or whatever it was, because I got too impatient waiting for it to attack me. Just beat the Ultima Beast thingy and it was easy. I leveled up everyone to around 48 and maybe I over-prepared. Typical Darcylike behavior - over-preparing.
And I ate a giant bowl of lime Jello.
