A full day

I was awakened by thunder and lightning and rain! Fortunately, it stopped before I left the house. I took off work today in order to go to the dentist to have my new crown installed, so I was glad that the weather improved. The dental work went fine. I have a couple of gold crowns, my contribution to aesthetics. :) Glad your dentistry went well.

I happen to have a folding screen, made out of (I think) rice paper. (How can one tell? It's a family hand-me-down.) It used to screen off a litter box, but now partially blocks off one bathroom. I'll have to post a photo of it sometime; it's beautiful in a '50s Beatnik kind of way, with brown grasses, a Zen branch, and, uh, six butterflies.

Seconding what whimzycat said, as you know anyway.

I thought about you this week. Spanish tv channel is running a series about Spaniards who live and work elsewhere, and this week it was Chicago. Two of the women feature were musicians, and though I looked carefully at every person in the backgrounds when they showed performance shots I didn't spot you! Have no idea when it was filmed though. It isn't something normally watch.

I'm sorry I don't the program was half way through before I had taken in what it was about, as I was flicking through the newspaper at the same time. One of the women was slim, darkhaired and married to a black American guy, and the other was a bit on the chubby side with long curly fairish hair, and her husband was Rumanian. I am not even sure which instruments they played. I was concentrating more on the glimpses of the city. I do remember one of the couples going to a restaurant called, I think, Tapas de Barcelona, and they also interviewed the owner.
