Yes, folks, it took me nearly five, count 'em, five hours to drive home from work tonight. In about the time it would take to drive from Chicago to St. Louis, I managed 40 miles. I left the office at 3:30 and got home about 8:20. It was a thrill in those rare moments when I got into 3rd gear. Have I mentioned that I hate snow? At least, I ( Read more... )

But I don't wanna be a pirate..... lynn_nicholas December 17 2008, 04:32:15 UTC
Missed our local production of The Nutcracker this year. I love to go for the Sunday afternoon performance. The audience is packed with sisters and friends of the young, guest dancers (from local dance schools). I so wanted a little girl I could take to ballet class. With my luck, I would have ended up with a baseball-playing, mud-to-the-eyebrows tomboy.

FIVE hours to go 40 miles. What is it exactly I miss about winter? Remind me to stop bitching about living in the southwest.

No, unfortunately. But it's because I scheduled a number of things tomorrow as I'm taking Thursday and Friday off! So that's good!

Do you realize how very traditionally Christmastimey your post sounds?? Snow! The Nutcracker! Even so, don't actually think I'd swap my climate for yours right now! Keep warm.

Really interesting photos of something I have never considered before. Laughed at the contraast between the two work spaces. Just know which mine would be whether making violins or scrapbooking or whatever.
Love the way you share such a diverse and interesting life with us. Even the snow is quite 'foreign' to me. And how horrible for you.
