& of course; I know not everyone likes these books. Had this book been first, I would not have made it out of the prologue. (really, no exaggeration; not even a chance)
Good luck with your books! & hoping your most recent finds a good home.
Sure, go ahead and do the reread. It might force me to read LJ and write. I;ve discovered my writing as atrophied to hell because of programming and Facebook
( ... )
Given that you like Tyrion, I was wondering how you would react to this post.
But, hey, one request="by popular demand", so maybe I will try this if I can make the time. OTOH, we have a client who is being ... frustrating. And not wanting work done that he really, really needs done, and asking for work that is, well, it's pointless busywork, but he wants it, and he's paying, so ... (tho he seems to think things which will take hours should magically happen in minutes, which, since they're doing everything stupidly anyway, maybe we should, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh! Sorry, had to say that)
I admit, I loved The Two Towers. And A Feast for Crows. But this one? No.
As for the Wall Street Occupation - many of my fellow Guild Members are there doing legal observing and some have been arrested. This mainstream media blackout is par for the course.
Oh, wow. I'm sorry that some of your friends were arrested. That's gotta suck. The only good thing I see about this is that arrests *should* increase the level of attention.
Don't be sorry. They're legal observers & lawyers, they know what they are doing. Besides, NYC is very efficient about their catch & release program.
Sadly, no, those particular arrests won't likely raise attention because the Guild doesn't tend to publicize the arrests of our legal observers. There are good and bad reasons for that.
Glad Marley was okay and came back to you!! I hadn't realized a single coyote could be so dangerous to dogs, but I have heard that a single coyote can lure your dog to the waiting pack. (My Dad laughed at my sister and I for being so concerned about his dog's safety when we had a coyote trail us all the way home from the trail! But we were worried about the dog!) So anyway, totally understand your multiple reactions - it's totally awesome to see them in person when you're not worried about your own animals. lol.
Forgot to mention - totally ok if you're wanting to write about the book! I don't have any particular interest in it myself, but I enjoy your thought process on things. So go for it if you want. :o)
It's weird, she's seen coyotes twice before and both times both she and the coyote padded right past each other while pretending (and they *had* to be pretending) to be completely unaware of the other's existence. Dunno why this time was different; whether she has gotten more aggressive as she's gotten older (she was already an adult back then) or whether it was suddenly seeing it directly in our path, or because it was daylight and the other times were at twilight. ::shrugs::
I have heard the luring stories too, tho dunno how true they are. And yeah, according to wildlife experts interviewed for this one article I read, while coyotes will go out of their way to avoid all but small dogs, they are very capable of killing even large ones--just way too quick, I guess. Or maybe the experts said that so morons wouldn't imitate the Doberman owner to see if they could get a different result; I dunno.
Anyway, yes, beautiful animals! & always good when no one gets hurt!
