I will not miss the cat farts, though.

I have just finished packing up the cat and handing her back to her owner. This is not because the owner is ready to take her back, but rather because I have quit ( Read more... )

Offer to take the cat back, but triple the price. It's one thing to undercut the competition, but undercutting them 90% is just costing you money.

It's not costing me money, though. There are zero expenses for me in this arrangement. Water is free, and all food and litter has to be provided. The only thing I had to pay for with Sheba was some Nature's Miracle, which I considered fair since I unknowingly cut off access to her litterbox that one time and that pretty much made the cat pee my own fault.

If I wind up advertising it as a service, I'll see what else is out there for informal boarding and by how much I can reasonably up the price before people figure they'd rather trust a professional boarding service.

I have a friend who is a petsitter. If you want to talk to her about her work, I can put you in touch.

Um. Sure? I guess?

Is there something I'm really missing? Because I've been pet-sitting regularly since I was a kid. The only difference here is that I'm accepting the animal into my home for the first time (now that I have a home I can do that with) instead of traveling to the owners' place.

Sounds like a good idea to me! I am hoping the cat who randomly turned up in my house will return at some point for pettins.

She sounds like a complete twit :/

Also, it only sank in when I went to bed, but: she expected you to be on constant call for three dollars a day?!

Whuuuuuuuut.

I'd go to you if I could to look after my pets. They'd probably come back better behaved. >>
