...some days I feel unbelievably disheartened about having been unemployed for so long, about my chances for getting the right kind of position, the career I'm trying to make for myself.

Between unemployment and benefits being denied and not having rent money and not even being sure that I WANT a job in the field I've spent 16 years studying for or working in, boy, do I ever feel you. Sometimes being an adult isn't all it's cracked up to be. Where's the patron who will hand us huge paychecks for talking about awesome TV shows and people we love on the internet all day?

Umm, I will take some questions.

I am soooo jealous of you and Zo's trip. I didn't even know you snorkeled :( Can't wait until Noa is old enough to be fun at a beach house (or umm, old enough for me to ditch her with my parents while I am fun at a beach house).

Zimbabwe! So cool!

I know what you mean with wanting a job (and I am so impressed at you doing the small business thing! At least it looks good on your resume, right?

I like questions.

I also want to join the Committee to Plan Tell Us More About Chickpea Salad Sandwiches.

Is snorkeling awesome? I'm terrified of water that's deeper than my waist but I'm interested in fish.

Let's go back to the beach. Okay? Okay.

You know how proud I am of you, right? The hardest thing is to keep pushing against a brick wall, yet there you are.

Your Awesome Ladies Summit sounds AMAZING. I would totally buy a ticket!

I think it's a huge accomplishment that you've built yourself up as your own business and have networked and gotten clients in such a difficult economy, but I understand your desire for a more stable job. It took me a long time to find the job I'm in now - which isn't the most exciting job, but is steady going and pays the bills. I wandered through a bunch of crappy temp jobs - and for a long time I was absolutely, 100% positive I never would find one and would, in fact, end up living in a van down by the river.

I hope you find your ideal job soon! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.
