As anyone born around 1980 would know, gaming reached absolute perfection with the release of NHL ’94. It’s great if you want a 10-minute diversion and I’ve been playing a few minutes of here and there for the past few months.

On a side note, I once won a tournament with all my cousins in NHL '94. Or at least, I think it was '94... might've been '93 or '95 or something. Good times.

Did you have one-timers? If so, it wasn't '93. Probably not '95 either since '94 was so much better :P

Ah NHL'94

I picked up a used copy of NHL 09 the other day. For all the 3D graphical goodness and fancy control features where your one control stick controls your stick completely, they have a setting to specifically change the controls to NHL '94s control scheme.

You know I heard good things about NHL 09! What platform did you get it for?

The 360

It's pretty enjoyable once you get used to the new shooting controls. And the Be a Pro feature's really neat. You pick a team and start playing in the AHL as *only* you. You only play your position and you sit on the bench while other lines are out. It's a nice change from being like, the hockey god controlling the entire team (or franchise in the GM mode). Of course trades are out of your control which is why I'm stuck playing for Calgary :P
