[The feed clicks on with Flora sitting down on a bench in the Pokémon Center. Her Pidgey is sitting next to her, while Chu is nowhere to be seen.]I guess my Pokémon needed to rest after that tiring journey. The nurse put Chu somewhere to get some sleep and says she'll be good to go by morning. Pidgey seems okay, probably because of the potion I ( Read more... )

Um! I've been making a little money by setting up a stand and selling cell phone straps that I make! It's my first job ever!

So you can sell things that you make? But I don't know how to make anything...

You can look for a job in the Pokemon Center or the PokeMart! They tell you that you have to work for a week at least though.

You have to work for at least a week? W-Well, maybe I can ask the Professor to let me do that when we get to the next city...

I remember when I was working at the PokeMart in Cherrygrove. The man said things like "you can stand still for at least 2 hours, right" because I worked as a cashier. It was kinda boring though.

[To be fair, Flora didn't exactly like the idea of working - she had been with the Professor so long, she was much more accustomed to asking him for things. But if she was going to be independent, she'd have to learn somehow. Even if she was 13 right now.]

I-I don't know if I can be a cashier... what do people do in the Pokémon Centers?

I think it's one way to get money. You can work at a Pokémon Center or a PokéMart, from what I heard. I like the idea of working at the Center, though! You get to help them take care of sick and injured Pokémon!

[Well, just transport them around. But she thinks it's a bigger job than that.]

I didn't even think about what I would have to do if I ever ran out of money. [it was certainly never an issue at home]

I-I'm sure it's not so bad to do work, right? There's got to be lots of things you can do to get money. You can earn some by battling people, but it's not much.

[Oh dear, was she upsetting her new friend? She really hoped not.]

If you ever need anything, I can try to help, Mimi!

Applying for jobs is the best way to earn money. The only problem with getting a job is...you need to work at the same place for an entire week. You'll be stuck in the same town for a little while if you do. That's the only drawback really.

I heard about that. I'm sure everyone I'm traveling with will want to take a rest at the next city, and maybe there I can do some work!

A week seems a little long to have to work at first... but I heard you can help take care of sick and injured Pokémon at the Center if you work there!

Great! It's a good thing to have patient travelling companions, hm?

[She nods her head.]

You can work in all sorts of jobs especially at the Pokemon Center. The nurses there are nice, but...they don't like sharing their spots very much. [She smiles nervously at her first day working there.]

[Hi there, Flora. Have a Professor who just saw your video feed over the network walking towards your bench.]

Are you looking for a job, Flora?

There are a few occupations around here, but I would rather if you did not work. After all, I am your guardian.

[Seriously, he won't let either Flora or Luke work at all. He'll just buy you guys everything you need with his money.]

Well, not right now, but...

Someone told me that I could work at the Pokémon Center and help with sick and injured Pokémon!

[Maybe she can get stuff from the Professor, but... but... she wants to be helpful. ;A;]

[action] haha no problem~ I'm on SLOWITAUS anyway <3 profpuzzle October 7 2010, 14:24:19 UTC
Ah, yes. I did work in the Pokemon Center for about two weeks, but you do help with the sick Pokemon. It is a very fulfilling job.

But if you ever need to buy anything, please, don't hesitate to ask me, my dear. As your guardian, I am responsible for all of your finances.

[No seriously, he's not going to make Flora or Luke pay for anything. ANYTHING.]

I'm grateful for you doing that, Professor, but I'd still like to at least be able to work there once in a city. It's not about the money now... I'm sure they could use my help sometime.
