I analyzed a few more, and it would appear so. It's also what the mythology books I've checked tell me.

However, if the rumors of how strange this place is are true, they may possibly have stranger motivations. Possibly darker as well.

I'll update my information upon further observation of their behavior.

In that light, the question might that they desire food, but what they consider to be food. These constant attacks I thought were, at first, territorial, but considering the recent body parts found among the tree branches the two may be connected.
