Frequently Asked Questions:

Edits & Additions in bold:

Q. What's the importance of the "skill set" portion of the application?

A. They had a limited amount of people they could save but they'd have weeded out people who were completely useless, i.e., bad with magic, no knowledge of healing or plants, etc. So the skill set is really the most important part of the application. A character who is good in defense against the dark arts and care of magical creatures might not be accepted over a character who is good in transfiguration and potions or Muggle cooking and herbology.

Q. Do they automatically have their wand, or does it have to count as one of their items?

A. Wand + two small personal items. I.e., a picture or a book, perhaps a piece of clothing or jewelry (jewelry doesn't count toward the two items, if it worn on the person, it doesn't count)

Q. Can I give my character a backstory with someone not on the cast list?

A. We would prefer to minimize this as much as possible, so as not to affect other applicants. This rule is bended for deceased characters (i.e. Tonks or Cedric).

Q. Would my character know who else is in the stasis chamber with them before waking?

A. No. Every character was put into stasis and then moved to their final "resting" place. Upon waking, they only know who they see in the chamber with them. Also, not everyone might wake at the same time. The waking times were spread out.

Q. What would "they" have told the people going into stasis about the situation?

A. They'd be told things like "we're working on a solution but this is a just in case measure." or "This is to keep you from getting sick until we find a cure".

A. For muggles: Muggle would have been better informed as the candidacy process was much more selective for survival.

Q. Will my character know what year it is when they get out?

A. Yes, the chamber people would leave something that says they couldn't risk waking them for 100 years.

Q. Can't my character just apparate from one location to another?

A. Nope. To keep the game from being trivialized, the apparation distance per day is limited to 500 miles due to the effects of such a long-term stasis.

Q. What do I need to know about the "pods"?

A. Detailed descriptions of the pods, what they do, what effects the characters, what's in the room and outside it can be found here here: http://community.livejournal.com/wp_authors/2904.html

Q. What kind of magical creatures survived?

A. Most magical creatures - Dragons, Acromantula, Boggarts, Thestral, Hippogryphs, the Giant Squid, Vampires, Centaurs & Merpeople - survived the virus. Any creatures previously restrained by magic have been roaming freely for 100 years. Survivors venturing out of their rooms will have to beware of all manner of magical creatures. A list of indigenious species per starting location can be found here: http://community.livejournal.com/wp_authors/2904.html (keep in mind that zoo animals have long since been free and breeding.

Q. What magical creatures did not survive?

Werewolves
