Past Alan Moore conversion-to-movies have been League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (the comic was awesome, the movie - complete garbage) and From Hell (the movie was quite good, but watered down - the comic was POV Jack the Ripper), and ostensibly Constantine (the sardonic, blonde, British, student of the occult comic character was his creation - how that evolved into LA-based, master wizard, Catholic Keanu is a mystery to me). I was mostly vastly irritated with League - the comic was so smart, entertaining, and well-researched - the movie was a morass of Hollywood action-formula (I blame producer Sean "The Penis Mighter for 100, Alex" Connery).
I'm sure you're not into comics, but I highly suggest checking out V for Vendetta, but I especially recommend The Watchmen (both are seminal 80s graphic novels). The Watchmen is less a tale of costumed do-gooders, than a grown-up tale of 80's geo-religious-political culture, intrigue and murder. The Watchmen is also being made into a movie, which I'm

Dorian Gray wasn't in the comic. In fact, the characters in the movie were drastically different that those of the comic. In fact, the comic's characters were so richly detailed and researched, that students of Victorian literature felt obliged to make a web page going over each little detail Moore included in the comic (though you can enjoy the comic without being a student of Victorian lit). One of the major differences was "The Bride of Dracula" (Mina Harker) in the comic was merely a woman - a strong-willed and intelligent woman, who merely happened to have had a run-in with the supernatural (which seemed to be the sole reason for her inclusion in the League
