Prompts

Hiya! Anat here, I went ahead and looked through all the prompts we got, some of them overlapped so I combined them, but here's what was done this year so far and my thoughts on how to space out the ones that we collected:

Jan 2011: one sentence meme
Feb 2011: artiste meme
March 2011: round robin meme
April 2011: kink meme
May 2011: Anything goes meme

Looks okay, except that I don't know what the "time meme" is, what would the prompts look like?

Oct 2011: First OR last sentence of fic; Use one of the sentence fills from the previous meme as a prompt
and I'd rather we change that as well. Can't we just say "use the sentences as inspiration" because some of those sentencefills wouldn't really work as a fic's first or last sentence.

Sept 2012: Use a fill from any previous meme and provide the POV from a character in the same scene
Can't we just allow all kinds of remixes for previous fills, not just change of POV?

So what'll we do with the final schedule? Should it be secret or should we post it to the comm for discussion?

The time meme is a reference to prompts regarding time, like "24 hours", but instead of keeping the prompt specific I thought maybe the prompts could be expanded to include like, a week, a month, a season, a year, a few years, etc ( ... )

Yeah, I just thought that the sentence should be allowed to be anywhere in the fill not just first or last sentence.

Well, there were notices sometimes, but I really don'T care either way. Do what you think is best.

That new anon meme comm is dying pretty fast though. It's a bit of a shame actually. Naruto fandom seems somewhat lazy about filling prompts. I'm a little worried for our meme.

Have a nice weekend!

Oh, I like your idea! It would give some unpredictability to it, awesome!

I'm a little worried for our meme.

Me too, that's why I really think we should limit the comm activity to collecting prompts and getting them filled. Otherwise it turns into a discussion comm, which isn't the purpose of this comm.

Thanks, you too!

I agree that we don't need the comm to discuss/vote on the prompts. I know when I was a member, I was eagerly anticipating the next prompt and wondering what it would be.

The schedule should be kept for us, but we should be open to changing it if new or better suggestions come along.

Nice schedule! (Sorry, I was on vacation for most of this week, away from a computer and didn't get to see it as soon as it was put up).

I like the order. Using the random GO anon ones for April Fools Day. Holiday in Dec. New years resolution meme in Jan. But I think February should always be an honest-to-goodness Kink Meme. People were waiting for it last year but it didn't come. (no pun intended...)

And what's a Versus Prompt?

Thanks!

Sure, we can make Feb kink meme month! Can we combine it with the challenge that was recommended for an extra kick?

Unless I am misinterpreting it, I think the person who recommended a versus prompt wanted prompts where characters are competitively matched up against each other. This makes me think of fights, spars, bets, academic competitions, etc.

Okay. I figured I should have a good idea of what it is, so that when I post it up on Thursday morning, I can make a few example prompts, like the previous mod did - like 'Sasuke vs Rock Lee in drunken Kung Fu' or 'The Sannin play strip poker'

And yeah, combining it with what was already there is perfectly fine with me. It'll be an extra challenge!
