I spent all weekend trying to hook up my Tivo to my family's DirectTV...$70, a new cable, and a wireless adapter later, I find out that the dual tuner feature doesn't even work - and in my opinion, ends up being a rather bothersome piece of hardware instead of useful. Ouch, sorry you had to find out the hard way. Yeah, the S2DT is only dual-tuner on the internal tuners, which handle analog cable. It only handles one external device. It is really aimed at cable users (since most 'digital cable' systems are hybrid and analog 2-99, digital 100+). It'll work fine with satellite, but no better than the standard single-tuner S2. The good news is the S2DT is a much faster box than the S2, so the menus are more responsive and if you use TiVoToGo transfers are faster. And 3rd party apps like Galleon.tv and Apps.tv work a bit smoother. (I run tivolovers)
