I didn't discover Twilight until summer 2007, right before Eclipse was released. I enjoyed Edward in Twilight because he seemed to have a sort of wicked charm. He was annoying and sexy at the same time. I will say that the physical descriptions of Edward never sounded attractive to me, NEVER. Pale and cold are not my type.I read the reviews for New

Heh, mine neither. Also, agreed on Jacob's "youthful bravado".
The song was "Come with me" by Sammie and its an R&B song about a guy that is in love with his heartbroken best friend
I know this song, but I never listened closely to the lyrics. Interesting. Jazmine Sullivan's "I'm in Love With Another Man" is an R&B song that makes me think of J/B in a really sad way though. And I don't even know if it entirely fits them, it just reminds me of heartfail. 112 "I'll Will Be There" is another that actually does kind of fit.
Fall of 2008, right before the Twilight movie was released I venture online in search of info and Jacob fans. Instead I'm surrounded by the terror that is Team Edward, aka the Sparkle Squad.Thank God I consulted Google before anything else

"...I doubt your commitment to 'sparkle motion'. Kidding.
One of my sister's is all for Bella and Jacob so I can't say that I've never met a J/B fan in real life. Guess I'm lucky. I've read the Twilight books and I'm not passionate about them I do agree that Team Jacob is pretty much under siege by the rabid, dreaded 'sparkle squad'. I guess I'm not on any team mainly because I think that Jacob is far too good a character for Bella to begin with and I think that he deserves a far better fate than being paired up with a self-absorbed Mary-Sue twit...
From a literary perspective though, Belward or Edwella or whatever are just loathsome and so deeply problematic and simply shouldn't happen unless as cautionary tale. (But then I felt that way about the HP books and had no tolerance for the Herons, and ended up preferring H/Hr by default.) You just gotta like what you like irrespective of authorial intent or pushy fan insanity.
Yep. That's pretty much where one of my Twilight reading sisters stands. She quickly came to the point where Jacob was the only person keeping her reading, and she concluded that he didn't deserve the fate of being paired up with such an insipid twit.
